چکیده مقاله
Crosswell traveltime tomography is employed to reconstruct subsurface velocity fields in a synthetic oil field model, evaluating the performance of unstructured triangular meshing The simulation framework utilizes a layered subsurface with a localized velocity anomaly, generating synthetic traveltime data with realistic noise characteristics Forward modeling employs a fine unstructured mesh to ensure accurate wave propagation, while inversion uses a coarser adaptive mesh to resolve geological features The conjugate gradient method with Tikhonov regularization produces velocity models that effectively capture the layered structure and anomaly, as validated by low misfit values and robust data fit metrics Visualizations of apparent velocity matrices, misfit distributions, and ray coverage reveal high reconstruction accuracy in data sensitive regions, with limitations near domain boundaries The unstructured meshing approach demonstrates superior adaptability to complex geological structures compared to rigid grids, offering enhanced resolution at a balanced computational cost These findings highlight the potential of unstructured meshes for improving geophysical imaging in reservoir characterization, with implications for optimizing subsurface exploration techniques
