This study presents the development of a simple, non electrochemical glucose sensor based on a nanocomposite consisting of glucose oxidase and gold nanoparticles The system was designed to trigger a visual output such as an LED light upon glucose detection, offering a rapid, user friendly approach without requiring complex instrumentation The nanocomposite leverages the high selectivity of glucose oxidase for glucose and the signal enhancing properties of gold nanoparticles, which provide a stable environment for enzyme immobilization and facilitate efficient molecular interaction Upon contact with glucose, glucose oxidase catalyzes its oxidation to gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide, the latter serving as a trigger for the visual signal This sensor demonstrates high sensitivity, selectivity, and operational simplicity, making it a promising platform for cost effective, portable glucose monitoring, especially for point of care and personal health applications
