چکیده مقاله
Introduction: Volleyball is an exciting sport that is growing day by day, and sports scientists are looking for ways to improve performance and reduce sports injuries Therefore, the present study aimed to compare the effect of eight weeks of stable and unstable core stability training on balance and strength of volleyball players Methodology: In a clinical trial design, 30 subjects were selected purposively and conveniently according to inclusion criteria having at least three years of volleyball playing experience, age range 18 25 years, body mass index less than 25 kg/m² and exclusion criteria having an injury in the ankle, knee, and thigh areas, not attending training regularly The subjects attended an introductory and initial briefing session and were given information about the purpose of the research and how the study would be conducted Then, an informed consent form was provided to them to complete and sign The subjects were randomly divided into two experimental groups regular exercise group and Swiss ball group and a control group For the initial assessments, the subjects returned to the test location at a specific time The tests were conducted at the physical education laboratory of the University of Tabriz The participants in the training group participated in the training program for eight weeks three sessions per week, each session lasting 45 60 minutes Training session schedule: After completing all initial tests pre test , the experimental groups trained for eight weeks, three sessions per week, each session lasting 45 60 minutes; the first 10 minutes of the training session were dedicated to warming up, and the last 5 minutes of the session were dedicated to stretching exercises for cooling down The groups performed the designed training program during the study instead of part of their usual training program Training protocol: Our training protocol on stable surfaces the floor and core stability on a Swiss ball was the same for 8 weeks, 3 sessions per week, and each session consisted of 3 sets of 10 reps for 45 60 minutes per day In the third, fourth and fifth weeks, the number of movements increased from 10 to 12 and in the sixth, seventh and eighth weeks, the number of movements increased from 12 to 15 The first five exercises are for the stable surface and the next five exercises are for the unstable surface The first five exercises are for the stable surface and the next five exercises are for the unstable surface Both exercises are isometric: 1 Elbow plank, 2 Hip bridge, 3 Side plank with trunk rotation, 4 Flying dog, 5 Superman, 6 Hamstring curl, 7 Hand to toe v ups Jack forearm plank, 9 Pike, 10 Side plank Finally, before and after the training protocol, the balance, proprioception, strength, and performance indices of each subject were evaluated Finally, the resulting data were evaluated using the 2×2 analysis of variance method with SPSS26 software at a significance level of less than 0 05 Findings: Overall, the results showed that before the start of the research design, balance in three directions: anterior, posterior medial, and posterior lateral and knee extensor muscle strength of volleyball players did not differ significantly between the two groups of stable and unstable surface training P < 0 05 Also, eight weeks of stable and unstable surface training significantly improved balance in all three directions: anterior P = 0 01 , posterior medial P = 0 02 , and posterior lateral P = 0 01 In addition, proprioception P = 0 001 and knee extensor muscle strength P = 0 01 improved significantly after both types of stable and unstable surface training, and no significant difference was observed between these two groups P
