چکیده مقاله
Objective: One of the main challenges in optimizing the performance of endurance athletes is the proper management of energy balance and the efficient use of fuel sources, especially fat oxidation The type and intensity of exercise play an important role in regulating metabolic pathways and can affect the contribution of fat and carbohydrate consumption during exercise and recovery periods This study was conducted to investigate the effect of the type and intensity of exercise on energy balance and fat oxidation in endurance athletes Methods: In a quasi experimental design, 24 male endurance athletes mean age 24 8 _x0017_7 2 7 years were randomly assigned to two groups: moderate intensity aerobic training MICT and high intensity interval training HIIT Each group performed specific exercises three times a week for 6 weeks Energy balance indices were assessed by comparing daily energy intake and expenditure and fat oxidation rates using indirect respiratory testing and calculating RER respiratory exchange ratio before and after the training period Findings: The results showed that the HIIT group had a significant increase in fat oxidation rates at submaximal intensities compared to the MICT group p
