School dropout is a significant problem in rural areas, according to recent studies This study looks into the causes of school dropouts among 15–18 year olds in Ghasem Abad village, Zabol County The purpose of this research is to examine the causes of dropout and how social, cultural, and economic circumstances influence these choices Eight girls and twelve boys who had dropped out of school participated in semi structured interviews for this qualitative study Five main questions about the reasons behind school dropout, the impact of financial circumstances, the school environment, cultural expectations, and the desire to return to school were covered in the interview The findings revealed that the most significant factors contributing to school dropout included financial difficulties, lack of educational resources, and cultural and social expectations The results indicate that poverty and limited access to education significantly affect students' decisions to drop out Additionally, cultural and social challenges, such as early marriage expectations for girls and lack of transportation for boys, were identified as important factors that should be addressed in efforts to prevent school dropout Finally, this study offers recommendations for improving educational conditions in rural areas and reducing dropout rates
