The present study aimed to investigate the effect of the painting therapy training program on self esteem and social skills of elementary students with specific learning disabilities in Rostam City The present study is classified as applied research in terms of its objective and follows an experimental method based on a pretest posttest design with a control group The statistical population of this study includes all students with specific learning disabilities in Rostam County Using purposive sampling, 30 students who visited the Comprehensive Center for Assessment, Education, Rehabilitation, and Timely Developmental Training Interventions were selected They were randomly assigned into two groups: experimental 15 students and control 15 students The tools used in this research included the Coopersmith Self Esteem Inventory and the Social Skills Questionnaire Both groups completed the Coopersmith Self Esteem Inventory and the Social Skills Questionnaire as a pre test before the start of the painting therapy training program The painting therapy training program consisted of eight sessions over a two month period, with each session lasting 65 minutes, provided to the experimental group Upon completion of the training program, students completed the Coopersmith Self Esteem Inventory and the Social Skills Questionnaire as a post test To analyze the data, SPSS software was utilized In the descriptive statistics section, mean and standard deviation were used Additionally, in the inferential statistics section, one way ANCOVA was applied The results of this study indicated that the painting therapy training program led to improvements in self esteem and social skills among students Therefore, it can be concluded that painting therapy training can effectively contribute to the enhancement of self esteem and social skills in students with specific learning disabilities
