چکیده مقاله
In today’s turbulent and complex environment, organizations require leaders capable of guiding change processes in alignment with their life cycle stages to ensure survival and growth Despite the growing body of research on change leadership and managerial competencies, most prior studies have examined these constructs in a static manner, detached from the contextual contingencies of organizational stages This review–analytical study aims to develop an integrative model of change leaders’ role competencies across the stages of the organizational life cycle Through a systematic review and critical analysis of literature in three core domains—organizational life cycle theory, change leadership roles, and leadership competency models—this study develops a conceptual framework that explains the contingent relationships among “organizational life cycle stage,” “key change leadership roles,” and the “required competencies ” Analytical findings indicate that entrepreneurial and guiding roles are more critical during early stages; talent nurturing and safeguarding roles become prominent during maturity; and strategist, mobilizer, and global thinker roles exhibit the highest effectiveness during diversification or decline The results highlight that leadership competency models should be designed dynamically, contingently, and stage oriented to effectively address organizations’ varying needs throughout their life cycle By integrating role based and competency based approaches, the proposed model bridges the theoretical gap in the change leadership literature and provides a foundation for designing leadership development and succession systems aligned with the organization’s life stage
