Overweight and physically inactive female students are particularly vulnerable to dysregulation in stress regulating neuroendocrine axes, including the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal HPA and sympathoadrenal SAM systems, which may contribute to adverse metabolic and physiological outcomes High intensity interval training HIIT , especially the Tabata protocol, has recently gained attention for its potential to improve body composition and modulate neuroendocrine stress markers This semi experimental study investigated the effects of an eight week Tabata program on body composition and HPA/SAM markers in 52 female students aged 20 25 years with normal and elevated BMI Participants were randomly assigned into four groups: training normal weight, training overweight, control normal weight, and control overweight Training groups performed three weekly Tabata sessions for eight weeks Body composition weight, BMI, body fat percentage and stress markers cortisol, salivary alpha amylase were measured using an InBody 370 device and ELISA assays, respectively Significant improvements in weight, BMI, body fat percentage, cortisol, and alpha amylase were observed only in the training overweight group P
