چکیده مقاله
In this study, a dual loop Organic Rankine Cycle ORC system is developed and simulated in MATLAB to recover waste heat from both the exhaust gas and the engine cooling system of an internal combustion engine The proposed configuration integrates a high temperature and a low temperature thermodynamic cycle operating with water and R718 as working fluids, respectively A comprehensive thermodynamic model was constructed based on steady state equations Parametric analyses were conducted to evaluate the effects of evaporator and condenser pressures ratios and mass flow rates on the system's performance The combined system achieved a maximum net output power of 38 78 kW and a peak first law efficiency of 12% under operating conditions This work demonstrates the promising potential of dual loop ORC architectures as an effective route toward improving net output power and thermal efficiency in future automotive powertrains
