Background: Breast cancer remains a significant global health challenge, often accompanied by severe psychological distress, including negative meta emotions and diminished self control Compassion Focused Therapy CFT has emerged as a promising intervention to address these issues by fostering self kindness and emotional regulation This meta analysis evaluates the effectiveness of CFT on negative meta emotion and self control specifically in women with breast cancer, synthesizing evidence from recent high quality studies Methods: A systematic search of Google Scholar, PubMed, and Web of Science was conducted for studies published between 2020 and 2025 Randomized controlled trials RCTs and quasi experimental studies investigating CFT in breast cancer patients were included Effect sizes were calculated using Hedges' g under a fixed effects model Results: Ten studies meeting the inclusion criteria were analyzed The pooled effect size for negative meta emotion was large and significant g = 1 51, 95% CI 1 81, 1 20 , p < 0 001 , indicating a substantial reduction Similarly, CFT showed a robust positive effect on self control g = 2 04, 95% CI 1 68, 2 40 , p < 0 001 Conclusion: CFT is a highly effective psychological intervention for improving emotional and self regulatory outcomes in breast cancer patients Clinical integration of CFT is recommended to mitigate the psychological burden of cancer
