چکیده مقاله
Suicide among children and adolescents has become an increasingly serious global public health concern In recent years, suicide has emerged as one of the leading causes of death among young people in many countries This issue is influenced by a complex interaction of psychological, social, and environmental factors that affect the mental well being of children and adolescents The present study examines the major causes, risk factors, and warning signs associated with suicide among young populations Mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety are among the most significant contributors to suicidal ideation and behavior In addition, experiences such as bullying, cyberbullying, traumatic life events, family conflict, and academic pressure can significantly increase emotional distress and vulnerability among adolescents Substance use and exposure to suicide within social networks or media may further intensify the risk At the same time, limited access to mental health services and the stigma surrounding psychological treatment often prevent young people from seeking timely help Recognizing early warning signs plays a crucial role in suicide prevention Behavioral changes such as social withdrawal, loss of interest in activities, risky behaviors, expressions of hopelessness, and declining academic performance may indicate psychological distress and potential suicide risk Early identification of these indicators by parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals can enable timely intervention and support Overall, effective suicide prevention requires increased awareness, improved access to mental health services, supportive family and school environments, and early detection of warning signs Addressing these factors can help reduce suicide risk among children and adolescents and promote healthier psychological development
