چکیده مقاله
Self knowledge—defined as individuals’ understanding of their identity, capabilities, beliefs, and emotions—has become a central construct across psychology, management, and behavioral sciences, undergoing profound transformation in the digital age This paper synthesizes findings from systematic literature reviews SLRs and complementary empirical studies to examine how digitalization has reshaped self concept, self disclosure, and self awareness The review demonstrates that self knowledge is not merely an internal or introspective process but is deeply mediated by social, technological, and institutional contexts Evidence indicates that digital technologies fundamentally alter how individuals construct, express, and protect their sense of self, creating new opportunities for self expression while intensifying tensions surrounding privacy, authenticity, and psychological well being The literature converges on five key thematic pillars shaping digital self construction: self narration, virtual–real self ambivalence, digitization and self enhancement, digital possessions, and privacy protection Beyond digital environments, the findings highlight strong links between self knowledge and psychological health, leadership development, and resilience Maladaptive and self critical forms of self knowledge—particularly perfectionism—are consistently associated with psychological distress, whereas interventions that enhance self awareness show promise for leadership development and organizational outcomes, despite limited evidence at the system level The paper identifies critical gaps in current research, including the need for integrated frameworks connecting digital, psychological, and organizational dimensions of self knowledge; longitudinal designs capturing its evolution across contexts; and rigorous intervention studies addressing both protective and risk related forms of self understanding These insights have implications for digital platform design, mental health interventions, and leadership development in contemporary organizations
